CAAHTA

California Chapter of American Horticultural Therapy Association

Horticultural Therapy is a professional discipline that utilizes the cultivation of plans, plant material, and gardening to improve a persons overall health and well being.

This association provides a forum for shared resources and skills, and promotion of programs and activities. Participation is encouraged in the community through involvement in meetings, education, career development, networking and volunteering. I served as secretary on the board for two years, and in that time I met some amazing friends who loved plants and loved people. I was exposed to many different modalities where Horticulture is used to improve people’s lives. I took what I learned (and am continuing to learn) back to my corporate world and became the first Chairperson of the PIA Cares branch of the Plantscape Industry Alliance.
